After circling around the market area window-shopping and bargain hunting, we happened to spot little stores near the bridge where they sell varieties of fruit. Jaha quickly exclaimed to buy watermelon and she chose the biggest fruit she could see.
Back at home, Jaha excitedly requested to make a watermelon juice/shake as she is dying to drink it. As a parent, I am also thrilled to make some to quench our fruit craving. Gladly, I still have some stock in the fridge to complete a cool and exhilarating shake.
My ingredients:
- liquid milk, you can substitute it to fit your dietary requirements
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder, substitute is sugar if the former is not available
- crushed ice, optional only
- watermelon, cubed or any chopping style enough to fit in the blender
Materials:
- fruit blender or heavy duty blender (for with crushed ice)
- knife
- teaspoon
Procedures:
1. Cut the watermelon and cubed it using the knife. Remove the seeds using the teaspoon or the knife.
2. Fill the blender half-full with watermelon cubes.
3. Add the crushed ice to fill the blender leaving about 2 cm onto brim.
4. Add the cinnamon powder.
5. Pour in the liquid milk; I use the full cream milk for richer taste.
6. Hit the blender buttons stopping only if all ingredients liquefied.
It is very easy to make. Indulge!
Jaha posed after waiting for her fruit shake to finish. She voluntary wanted to fill up her glass, acting as mature already. She is only seven years old, and is glad that she enjoyed every moment of this preparation.
A satisfactory smile after sipping a few. |
