Manila Ocean Park - Jellyfish Sanctuary

Growing up near mountain tops and nearby beaches, I am accustomed to monthly family outings along the beaches of Ilocos. One sea creature that attracts me is the jellyfish. Nevertheless, for my entire childhood, I thought that there is only one type of jellyfish. I realized when I reached high school that there are different species among them until I met them personally at the Manila Ocean Park Jellyfish sanctuaries.

It took a long time to have this encounter but it is worth it because my daughter was fascinated with the different dance lights emanating from their luminescent gel body.

Manila Ocean Park - The Oceanarium

My family and I have seen terrific shows and scenery on the cable and internet and my daughter is always mumbling and forcing us to see one locally. She loves water, oceans, beaches, but I stopped her because too much sun is bad for the skin. Well, we had sunburns last summer due to overexposure on the beach at Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte and Boracay.

Luckily, my daughter (Jaha) spotted the Manila Ocean Park and until then, she had not stopped wooing me in purchasing tickets for the park. Therefore, as a parent, there is a special spark and touch in my heart while my daughter does the puppy eyes request. Moreover, I search the promotional vouchers online on where I could get discounts for the family field trip. Timing that Ensogo (www.ensogo.com.ph) offers that discount vouchers and I did purchased 3 tickets for the much awaited event.

Jollibee Cup Art Workshop

Our family is ready to go home after purchasing groceries at Puregold Araneta branch when a Jollibee crew approached us and offered a weekend activity for youngsters. She briefly introduced what would be the workshop is all about and upon convincing our daughter, we paid small fee for 200 pesos only covering the art materials and food for the attendee.

Jaha is very anxious waiting for Saturday to come. Gee, it is only Thursday and she kept talking and discussing over this with us for the whole two days.

Friday night and she slept late because she is very busy with the online games, www. friv.com, a website that offers free online gaming but she promised to wake up early for the much awaited short workshop. We had a deal and I let her be.

Visit with Grandma Rosa

Jaha being the first great granddaughter among the legions of great grandchildren, she is great grandmother's apple of the eye.

People could see that on how she is treated like a princess. As her dad, it carves a special place in my heart where my little baby girl will grow up someday and hoping to be always her daddy's apple of the eye too.

I spoil her so is my grandmother too, Rosa. Jaha spends lots of time with granny Rosa going over to her place and staying in the mansion once in a while chit chatting about everything. Well, my daughter has the quality of asking too much questions and conversing with too much details, which requires a lot of patience especially if you do not have the willingness to listen from a toddler's mouth :-)

The EnfaKid Photoshoot

Having the continuous busy days these past few months and anticipating ahead on the workloads that will be coming, I happened to browse my old files and stammered on an unedited picture of my daughter. I subconsciously smiled at the photo wherein my little daughter was just starting to pose in front of the camera deliberately and the timid smile is slowly emerging as she makes herself adjusts to the people in front of her.

The flashing grin from us (her parents) gave her the courage to stand up and let the standing director guide her on her first photo capture in front of the crowd.

Visit to the Manila Zoo

After some time wondering what could we do to spend time with the family graciously, my daughter decided to visit animals at the Manila Zoo.

She hurriedly prepared her morning bath soaking under the tiny bubbles and liquid soap suds with a little drop of eucalyptus oil to attain the cool mist feeling of the bath. After some time indulging under the cooling bath wash, she thought of a moment what to wear on this hot day.

She stepped out and made a final course of shower and I let her picked her clothes. She will be turning seven and as a parent, I would want her to explore her horizons in choosing what is best for her (for now :-) ) with regards on physical frills.
